This job was quite a feat! A 22-metre stone-lined stream beginning with a carved Green Man fountain, travelling through native Marginal plants and Sluice Gates, around stepping stones, under a bridge and into a 7x5m pond!
With a pump feeding up to 6,000 litres though the system an hour, the stream and fountain make an exciting play area as well as a relaxing water feature.
Anticipating much use from children, families and youths, the installation is built to the highest specification to withstand rough-and-tumble and exceed safety regulations. The flowing water is double-filtered – once from the Ultraviolet Clarifier and again through the biological filter of the ornate native marginal plants. The bridge and surrounding path are wheelchair-friendly.
Features include the Sluice Gate play feature and family seating from sanded logs, as well as a large sandpit surrounding the fountain. The pump’s speed can be adjusted by the park wardens and is securely locked away. We’re really happy with the installation, which has received great feedback already!
As always, the materials were sourced as locally as possible, with turf from Yate and the stone quarried locally in Cheddar.
